Tāmaki electorate

Tāmaki covers suburbs to the east of the Auckland CBD, running east to west from Orakei to Glendowie, and north to south from Bastion Point to Stonefields. The seat is currently held by National's Simon O’Connor, who won comfortably with a margin of 8,068. In 2020, Labour won the greatest share of party votes in Tāmaki – 38% to National's 37%. The seat has been held by National MPs since 1960 when it was won by Rob Muldoon, who served as prime minister from 1975 to 1984.
