Ōtaki Community Board

The Ōtaki Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Kapiti Coast District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of five members: four members elected by voters, and one member from the Kapiti Coast District Council.  This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper.   • Continue to support the Ōtaki and Te Horo Business Association, which I assisted in establishing as a member of the Ōtaki Community Board.

    Keep freedom camping limits balanced and encourage Kapiti Coast District Council to work with Greater Wellington Regional Council to establish proper policies and facilities for the Ōtaki river mouth.

    Support continuation of upgrading the Three Waters infrastructure to ensure community resilience.

  • Provide ways for shared path users to travel east–west to access further into Ōtaki and support the Mill Road shops.

    Continue to support local business associations as local knows local best.

    Support hub developments to entice business types to Kāpiti, eg food hub, to bring employment opportunities to Kāpiti residents.
