Why I'm standing

I believe I have the skills and experience to contribute in a positive way. I have an extensive network of iwi and council networks throughout the Waikato Region. In the last six years I have worked to support council to engage with manawhenua and iwi in a meaningful way that encourages Māori participation in its processes.

About me

I am a local business owner, hold governance portfolios and I project manage taiao restoration projects. I am involved in kaupapa that focus on restoration and protection of the environment and our local history. Many council decisions impact in some way on people and environment. With succession in mind the principle I engage in decision making regardless of subject is 'do no harm', 'do the least harm' to ensure preservation of the environment.

My priorities
  1. Prioritise restoration and protection of our taiao and waterways.
  2. Maintain meaningful engagement with manawhenua and iwi to encourage participation in council processes.
  3. Retain Māori wards. Regardless of the result of the referendum, priorities one and two remain true.
