Taihape Community Board

The Taihape Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Rangitikei District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of seven members: four members elected by voters, and three members from the Rangitikei District Council.  This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Go to where the people are by attending meetings of other groups and public occasions. Support local.

    Welcome meetings that provide engagement opportunities through respectful listening.

  • Encourage public engagement with the board through the public forum and talking table.

    Reach out to rural areas as commenced in the previous millennium to grow awareness of the board.

  • Encourage diversity in groups with an eye to local or central government and succession building.

    Encourage efficiency and effectiveness above others for the good of the community.
