West Auckland thrives when its community's voice is truly heard. As a local board candidate, the aim is to restore meaningful consultation by actively seeking input on residents' needs and concerns. Too often, decisions are made without engaging those most affected. Through genuine dialogue and ongoing engagement, the focus will be on empowering the community, ensuring their perspectives directly inform local board priorities and actions for a more inclusive, responsive West Auckland.
Twenty-three years ago, my wife and I chose this community to call home and raise our two children. My commitment to the community is demonstrated through roles such as church deacon, local community radio contributor, and service on the Waitakere Ethnic Board. Passionate about making a difference, I bring a unique perspective shaped by growing up in apartheid-era South Africa. I am a neighbor and listener who values unity and new beginnings.
