Why I'm standing
I believe Auckland city is one of the best but excessive spending needs to be curbed to mitigate rate rises. The recent announcement of $778 million expenditure on temporary traffic management (TTM) from 2020 to 2023 by Hon. Chris Bishop is a case in point. Extrapolated from that figure, from 2023 to 2025 there would be another $400 to $500 million spent on TTM. I will audit this excessive expenditure as each road cone costs $5 to $6.
About me
My skill set in problem solving, policy development and implementation combined with my communication skills will add value to Kaipatiki Board decision making and action plans. My RSA, Lion's Club and Salvation Army membership help me connect to local communities to better understand the issues with Kaipatiki residents. This helps me understand their needs more and allows me to create action plans to help the locals achieve their community goals.
My priorities
- Evaluate Auckland Transport public transport policy to ensure efficient delivery of services for the general public.
- Evaluate current operating costs to ensure appropriateness and prevent unnecessary excesses.
- Evaluate contract awards to ensure a fair tendering process for transparency and accountability.
