Why I'm standing

I am running for a combination of reasons: 1) I am concerned that our present board is out of touch with the needs of our diverse communities and could do a lot better, this has prompted me to take action as 2) I am confident that I bring the ideal attributes, values, skills and lived experience to ensure the voices of our tangata/people are upheld.

About me

I have decades of grassroots experience on the North Shore in community health, environmental sustainability and the arts. I know solutions come from the ground up. A seasoned advocate, I listen, engage and act for the betterment of all, Māori and non-Māori. I have no political affiliations. As an independent, I'll uphold local voices, champion transparency and bring energy, knowledge and commitment to the local board.

My priorities
  1. Protect and enhance parks, reserves and natural environment and build resilience against climate change.
  2. Improve support services for seniors, youth (at risk) and ethnic communities, including training and job opportunities.
  3. Strengthen manawhenua, mataawaka relationships and ensure co-governance adherence in all decisions.
