Why I'm standing
I believe Rotorua is a wonderful place to live and I am standing for council to ensure our community's voice is heard in every decision. I have taught our beautiful children for sixteen years, gaining a deep understanding of local hopes, challenges and aspirations. I want Rotorua to be a place where everyone can afford to live, feel proud to call home and know their needs are at the heart of council's work.
About me
I have worked in education for twenty-five years as a teacher, leader of learning and school board member. I am an astute listener who considers all sides of an issue and welcomes constructive challenge to reach the best decisions. I am prepared to present an opposing view when needed, always with respect. My experience, integrity and commitment to balanced decision-making will guide me in serving our community effectively on Rotorua Lakes Council.
My priorities
- Ensure infrastructure decisions reflect long-term financial and environmental sustainability.
- Back a tourist levy and council investments to boost income and reduce rates rises on the community.
- Build safe, thriving neighbourhoods together with mana whenua, social agencies and locals.
