I am frustrated by a growing culture of austerity, locally and nationally, leading to chronic underinvestment in protections for people and planet. We must recentre debates on the four well-beings: social, economic, cultural and environmental. I was motivated to stand through my already active community involvement, and particularly through advocacy for Palestine, through which I've met many wonderful locals doing many other wonderful things at grassroots, including incumbent councillors I consider mentors.
As a translator, for the past 15+ years I've run my own business, including all the admin and accounting, and worked with a range of clientele, mostly at major public museums, eg Centre Pompidou, and in international development, eg The Global Fund. I served on boards and organised with colleagues around employment conditions, notably as part of ASIF, Anglo Subtitlers in France and the European-level AVTE. I'm a good researcher and communicator who cares deeply about community.
