Tukituki electorate

Tukituki is currently held by Labour's Anna Lorck, who won comfortably with a margin of 1,590. In 2020, Labour won the greatest share of party votes in Tukituki – 48% to National's 30%. Tukituki is named after a popular trout fishing river. The electorate has existed since 1996. It was first held by Labour's Rick Barker for three terms, until it was won by National's Craig Foss in 2005. Foss retired at the 2017 election and the seat was won by National's Lawrence Yu before Labour won the seat back in 2020.

Why I'm standing

As an immigrant to Aotearoa, this is an act of service to my adoptive country, like learning te reo Māori, and upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi. I share the Green Party's vision of an Aotearoa where the bush is alive with birdsong and everyone has enough to live a good life.

About me

I have a diplomatic personality, so I tend to find common ground and get along with everyone. I've worked in a wide range of industries from hospitality to agriculture, retail and the trades. I'm determined to help Aotearoa navigate a just transition to a low-carbon economy, a transformation to a written constitution, and a rebalancing of wealth so that everyone can have enough to live a good life.

My priorities
  1. Ensure an equitable and climate resilient recovery from Cyclone Gabrielle.
  2. Connect healthy affordable housing in liveable urban centres with modern public transit.
  3. Restore the health and mana of our rivers, aquifers and other waterways.
