I value the unique balance our city offers — close-knit communities, natural beauty, and urban convenience – but we are facing the twin challenges of underinvestment (Three Waters) and failing to plan for or address the coming impacts of climate change. We must prepare now for climate impacts and invest wisely – not just in waste minimisation, but in truly future-proofing our city. That means focusing on essentials, not "nice to haves".
I have lived in Trentham for 12 years. I have no political party affiliations, and I am no longer working so have the time to spend that a councillor's role deserves. My career has been spent on analysing issues and working with others, including governance groups – which is what the council is – to identify and implement solutions. I've worked in local government, so I know how a council operates.
