Why I'm standing

I am offering my skills to strengthen Upper Hutt as a thriving city for families, communities, and businesses. I have lived in the Hutt Valley for 43 years, the last 11 in Riverstone. I've raised four sons, now adults, who have given me wonderful grandchildren, and it's those generations that I keep in mind as I seek a place on the council. I will strengthen how we work together for a shared and inclusive future.

About me

My qualifications include a master's in public management, I'm used to managing large budgets, solving complex problems and making big decisions that influence lives. I have had long-term involvement at the grassroots level in many social development, cultural and community boards. With decades of experience in governance roles on health, education and industry boards, I believe I can make a positive contribution to our city. I'm currently chief advisor at the Ministry of Disabled People.

My priorities
  1. Focus on investing in essential core services with all spending reviewed.
  2. Increase community participation in decisions affecting their lives.
  3. Strongly focus on community safety in its broadest sense so families can live and enjoy the city.
