I'm Gurpreet Dhillon, a proud Upper Hutt resident, small business owner, and community volunteer. My wife and I are raising our family here, and I want to make sure our city stays safe, affordable, and thriving. Driving taxis and volunteering has connected me with people from all walks of life, and I hear their concerns daily. I'm running to give residents a strong voice, ensure council spends wisely, and deliver results that matter.
About me
I will make a good representative because I am approachable, practical, and deeply connected with our community. As a small business owner, community advocate and dedicated volunteer, I listen daily to people's concerns and understand the challenges households face. I bring experience in community leadership, technology, and customer service, which helps me solve problems. I will be a strong voice for residents and work hard to ensure council decisions put community first.
My priorities
- Improve roads, fix potholes, add better streetlights and make footpaths safer for everyone.
- Push for more reliable and affordable public transport so residents can travel with confidence.
- Improve access to public spaces, green areas and river for everyone including seniors and disabled.
